The project itself was highly ambitious to begin with but the challenge was merely waiting to be conquered. With all the tools available the investments have paid off to now have a full live test server for the development.
Partnering with Epic Games has allowed us to access a powerful engine designed to produce a multi-platform multiplayer experience with titles like Fortnite and Gotham Arkham Knight Unreal had created an emense freamework for gaming and network playabliity
The scope is to test the network features like spectator, voice chat, epic games friends list and even the potential to aquire a developer kit from mictrosoft and sony to release the game on those platforms also. For now the game is only available for windows.
From the beginning the project to develop a game has been a solo journey. While along the way I have participated in developing an RP server with the use of FIVEM a development tool designed by the cfx team using GTAV game to offer developers an extensive sandbox to play around with and create new things never seen in GTA before. This activity will be directily limited to prevent server overload. The intent is to slowly allow a new client to jon the server with other testers while monitoring the resources. This will help us better understand what kind of server upgrades will be needed to accommodate an active populated server
